Day 256: Genesis i.23-25

513:4-515:10

Advancing spiritual steps in the teeming universe of Mind lead on to spiritual spheres and exalted beings.

God creates all forms of reality. His thoughts are spiritual realities.

Understanding the control which Love held over all, Daniel felt safe in the lions' den, and Paul proved the viper to be harmless.

Patience is symbolized by the tireless worm, creeping over lofty summits, persevering in its intent.

Day 144: Inspiration Found

280:1-282:2

Divine Science does not put new wine into old bottles, Soul into matter, nor the infinite into the finite. Our false views of matter perish as we grasp the facts of Spirit. The old belief must be cast out or the new idea will be spilled, and the inspiration, which is to change our standpoint, will be lost.

I’m going to step aside from Mary Baker Eddy for just a moment here. I think the above quote might give one the impression that it is either now or never. The boat is leaving and you need to be on it. But I’ve known so many people with a spiritual path that wasn’t straight and had many potholes. Matter is a difficult belief to work through on the road of Spirituality.

I don’t think God ever gives up on us and his inspiration is never lost. Ours shouldn’t be either. Trust in God, yourself, and your fellow man.

Day 37: Wait and Love More

66:1-67:29

I’ve heard complaints of how Christian Scientists don’t act, but wait --even under great duress. As a kid, I could see the outward evidence but the situation always resolved. Now, of course, I know they weren’t just waiting. There was a spiritual journey of prayer and understanding going on. I don’t know if I could pinpoint it to a specific page before today. Mary Baker Eddy’s instruction is clear on this here.

Anyone know what she meant by this:

Socrates considered patience salutary under such circumstances, making his Xantippe a discipline for his philosophy.

Day 2: Unbiased Christian Thought

ix:1-x:32
There are several points in this reading that are intriguing. The first is that Mary Baker Eddy, even she, says she is still waiting on the Mind of Christ. Patience and expectation in spiritual development definitely walk hand in hand.
The second point she makes seems to be a continuation of yesterday’s instruction regarding obedience to divine Principle. Today’s thought is that
The divine Principle of healing is proved in the personal experience of any sincere seeker of Truth.
And the last thought is about unbiased Christian thought
The unbiased Christian thought is soonest touched by Truth, and convinced of it.
What is that unbiased Christian thought?
